Cookie Policy
Last Updated: 2 June 2025
This policy explains how sablefins uses cookies on our platform and how you can adjust your preferences.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit — for instance, whether you have already seen a notice or what settings you prefer.
Cookies do not carry personal data by themselves, though when combined with account information they can be linked to you. Most web browsers accept cookies by default, but you can change your browser settings to refuse them (see Section 6 for instructions).
2. Cookie Types We Use
We organise the cookies on our platform into four categories:
These are necessary for the platform to function. They enable core features such as session management, navigation, and security. The platform cannot operate properly without them and they cannot be disabled.
Duration: Session or up to 12 months
These help us understand how visitors use our platform — which pages are visited most, where visitors come from, and how long they spend reading content. This data is aggregated and used to improve the service.
Examples: page view tracking, session duration · Duration: up to 2 years
These track visits across different websites to help us show relevant information about our community to people who may find it useful. Disabling them does not affect your ability to use the platform.
Examples: conversion tracking, interest signals · Duration: up to 90 days
These remember choices you make, such as your display preferences or whether you dismissed an informational notice, so you do not need to set them again on future visits.
Examples: UI settings, dismissed notices · Duration: up to 12 months
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our platform are placed by third-party services we use to understand and improve the experience:
- Google Analytics — aggregated traffic and usage statistics
- Google Ads / Bing Ads — conversion measurement when someone reaches us through an advertisement
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — helps us measure the reach of our community awareness efforts
These third parties have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not control the cookies they set beyond the configurations we have applied.
4. Cookie Duration
Cookies fall into two broad duration types:
- Session cookies — exist only while your browser is open and are deleted when you close it.
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device until they expire (as noted per category above) or until you delete them.
5. Your Cookie Preferences
